What is Aquatopia

Here is a official description of Aquatopia. 

The three-person watercraft travels around the experimental pool, and this is no typical course. You'll spin around and twirl off in unpredictable directions. Who knows where you'll end up!

Duration is about 2.5 minutes per each ride and three guests can board per each ride. 

Highlights of Aquatopia

1. Unpredictable moving

Aquatopia is operated by the program called "Factory automation". Normally, this kind of attraction have rails that allows vehicles to move around in the same route.  Hoerver, there is no rails in this attraction! It's very surprising feature. By using this system, nobady knows where this machine is going! So you can enjoy the different moving pattern. 

2. Two basic courses

There are two basic courses; Land course and Sea course. In Land course, you are going towards the sidewalk. In this course, you have a chance to go close to the waterfall and waved hands from the sidewalk. On the other hand, the sea couse will bring you towards sea side. In this course, you have an opportunity to go to the cave area so you will be excited. 

3. Soaking course?

The soaking course appears only dueing summer. In this course, you are probably get soked, not wet. But you can feel cool water. 

There are some caution to ride this course. Your luggage is stored under your seat, so I don't think you have to keep your luggage. However, if you care about it, you should do that. Also, if you have to be careful about camera and phone. Some guests say that their phone gets wet. So you MUST keep your phone and camera etc.. safety to prevent from getting soaked. 

Also, you had better to bring another cloth to change after this ride if you have enough space.

4. Night Course

Aquatopia is a kind of active attraction during the daytime but it is going to change to the romantic attraction dueing the night. This attraction is illuminated by blue and purple colors during the night. I can recommend to couples who want to experience dramtic atmosphere. 

Boarding restriction

There is no specific age and height restricion in this attraction, however, according to the official Tokyo Disney Sea website, "Guests who cannot maintain a stable sitting alone in a moving vehicled may not ride.  So if you are not confident to be stable during the ride, you had better to give up riding.

Location of Aquatopia

Aquatipoa is in the upper left side of the Tokyo Disney Sea, looking from an entrance gat. Also, Aquatopia is located in "Port Discovery", one of the theme ports of Tokyo Disney Sea. In this theme port, you can feel and experience a kind of "near future".  

This attraction is located a kind of isolated place but you can easily find the waiting line because there is a signboard. 

If you come from the theme park "American Water Front" which is lower left side of Tokyo Disney sea, you ought to take "Tokyo Disney Sea Electric Rail Way" that takes you to the station near Aquatopia.

Waiting time of Aquatopia

This is the attraction that is relatively little waiting time compared to other popular attractions.  There is no Fast Pass for this attraction, so you can enjoy it by only waiting in a "standby" lane. 

Usually, it takes you about 20 minutes on weekdays and 30 minutes on weekends. 

After opening the Tokyo Disney Sea, the waiting time of the attraction in American Water Front, which is lower left side of the park is tended to be greater. Then the guest who enjoyed attractions in American Water Front would come to "Port Discovery" area, that Aquatopia belongs to. So, if you want to ride in less waiting time, you might want to visit the very after opening the park or before closing the park. 

Note

Aquatopia is an outdoor attraction and whether it can be operated depends on weather. Surprisingly, this attraction is not stopped in a little rain. But you are encouraged to bring a raincoat to prevent from getting wet. 

It is not recommended to ride this attraction during winter because sometimes you will get wet during the ride. Also, this attraction tends to be closed during the winter due to maintenance.
